This is me giving my speech during Literacy Action Week.  I spoke about black soldiers during WW1 and WW11 during the Remembrance Day Celebration, and I also gave a great speech from my heart about literacy.  The Cape Breton Post was there and my picture was in the paper on Friday. 

There is no greater high than public speaking.  It was my first time and there was over 100 people in attendance.

I am a mother and a lover

I wonder how to pay my bills

I hear my friend in heaven

I see my youth disappear

I want peace and happiness

I am mother and lover

I pretend to be a princess

I feel the need to love

I touch my friend's hand at night

I worry where we go when we die

I cay when my granddaughter goes home

I understand that my kids will leave someday

I say, "I love you today"

I dream of going to England

I try to be a good person

I hope for peace
